Bishop John Jamison Moore the Crypto Jew of North America

My granddaddy, Bishop John Jamison Moore, may be the Greatest Black Preacher you have never hear of! He lived from around 1804 until 1893. He was in association with personalities such as: Fredrick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, the Paul Robeson Family, and also other abolitionist. They were all members of the same church denomination, A.M.E. Zion, that broke away from racist whites who claimed to follow Christ. Bishop Moore was considered by many to be one of the best Black preachers in the nation, and was therefore raised to the position of Bishop in 1865.

He has been written about in many books and newspapers. His work and life is well documented in libraries across North America, including: the New York Times, University of North Carolina, and the University of North Texas.

He has had numerous churches named after him as well, including Moore's Chapel in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Although some of my grandfather's story has been told, yet much of it is still waiting to be revealed to the public. One unknown "little family secret" about Bishop Moore is that he is from long generations of "spirit men" and he also produced the same through his lineage. His grandchildren have all been clergy in the church in one form or another, going on 6 plus generations! According to my cousin Peggy, Bishop Darrin Moore, a current AME Zion Bishop, is a descendant of John Jamison Moore.

Little is documented about Bishop Moore's father, John Moor (formerly Clawson), but he baptized Bishop Moor as a child and named him "Benyamin" (Benjamin). History writes that his name was later changed to John to honor his father, but this was "a cover" for the truth. "Benyamin" is the name of one of the 12 Tribes of Israel. This said scenario is one of many examples of Bishop John Jamison Moore's life and practice of what is termed as "Cryto-Jew" or being a secret Jew. Bishop Moor is from Moorish Hebrew Lineage linking to Moorish Spain and Washitaw Muurs right here in North America.

His Mother, my Great Grandmother, is documented as Fannie Riedoubt. She was born "free" and was kidnapped in Maryland and enslaved in West Virginia. She escaped to freedom and the rest is history as they say. Much moor later about Granny Fannie!

Honors to the Moors!!!

Shalom Shalom,

As we close out another Sabbath and start a new week, we recognize and proclaim that Sunday is not the day that Jesus prescribed for the seed of Abraham , the children of Israel to recognize as the Sabbath.
